Preview of California Interscholastic Federation Pac-5 Semis

Year-in and year-out the PAC-5 in the California Interscholastic Federation's Southern Section has provided some of the best football in a very talented state.

On Friday four of the best in 2007 will play a doubleheader at the Home Depot Center in Carson to decide who will play for the PAC-5 championship.

The first game will feature Crespi (Encino) taking on Servite (Anaheim) in a match-up of head coaching buddies. Servite head man Troy Thomas will square off with Jeremiah Ross of Crespi. Thomas was the head coach at Crespi before moving on to Servite, and while he was turning the Celts program around he brought-in Thomas to be his offensive coordinator.

Before Thomas, Crespi was 1-19 during the two previous seasons. He left for Servite after the 2004 season and Ross took over Crespi's program, which last week beat nationally-ranked Mater Dei.

In the other semifinal, Long Beach Poly, which began the season nationally-ranked plays Orange Lutheran, which won last year's California Division I championship.
