High School Football America
I spent the afternoon in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania shooting a feature for High School Football America on the rarity that is Saturday afternoon football.
Very few high schools play in the sunshine of Saturday, but the Green Knights have been doing so for decades. What made Saturday's game different was neither Pen Argyl or its opponent Wilson have lights at their home fields.
The view from the very top of "The Hill" at Pen Argyl is incredible! The above picture shows a 50-mile panoramic view into New Jersey.
Wilson's Smith Field sits in the shadow of the famous Dixie Cup, which sits on-top of the defunct Dixie Cup plant.
As far as whether either team will ever fully go into Friday Night Lights mode?? My guess is that won't happen for some time...and that's just fine with each team's fans.
Pen Argyl beat Wilson 42-6 to improve to 4-0 this season. For the rest of Saturday's scores from around the nation, click on the links below.
