Homestead closed out an undefeated regular season Wednesday night with 42-10 win against
Cedarsburg (7-2), which was the 47th straight North Shore Conference win for the Highlanders. Homestead now gets ready for the Division I playoffs which begin Tuesday.
Homestead has been to the last two Division I championship games, facing Arrowhead both times. Homestead won the title in 2006, while Arrowhead won last year's title. Homestead opens the post-season against
West Allis Hale (6-3), while Arrowhead (9-0) faces
Manitowoc (4-5).

Homestead won the rubber match of the three-year battle for Wisconsin's Division 1 high school football championship. The Highlanders beat defending champ Arrowhead 13-11 Friday to win the school's second title in three years. It was the third straight year that Homestead and Arrowhead met for the state's biggest classification championship. Click here for game recap story.
Burlington Catholic Central capped a perfect season with a perfect performance Thursday to win the Wisconsin Division 7 high school football championship. BCC (14-0) beat Hilbert (13-1) 37-14 at Camp Randall Stadium and in doing so tied or broke four team and eight individual Division 7 championship game records. Click here for a game recap story.
Homestead's drive for a third straight appearance in the Wisconsin high school football Division 1 championship game received a little scare on Saturday. Homestead (11-0) advanced to the quarterfinal round of the post-season with a hard fought 14-8 win over Milwaukee Marquette (8-3). Homestead plays Racine Park (10-1) next week. The turnaround is underway as the winners of Tuesday night's first round Wisconsin high school football playoff games now have three days to prepare for their second round games on Saturday. 
Six of the seven 2007 state champs are back to defend their Wisconsin high school football championships. Only Division 7 champ Eleva-Strum didn't make the 2008 post-season. Defending champs Arrowhead (Div. 1), Kimberly (Div. 2) and Wisconsin Lutheran (Div. 3) all finished the regular season undefeated.
