The High School Football Huddle

It's a fun time of year for the top high school football seniors around the country, as America's oldest national high school football all-star game begins delivering its invitations. So far seven players have been named to the two 45-man rosters for the 10th Annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl will be played on January 9th in San Antonio.

How big is this game for the seniors? Just ask Byrnes (Duncan, SC) star running back Marcus Lattimore, who according to GreenvilleOnLine.com, was invited to the Under Amour All-American Game, but held-off excepting because he wanted to play in the U.S. Army game that airs on NBC.

Lattimore won't be travelling alone to Texas. His teammate, defensive end Brandon Willis, will also play in the all-star game.

Here are the rest of the players chosen so far with links to the news releases...

Dillon Baxter (Mission Bay HS, San Diego, CA)
Seantrel Henderson (Cretin Derham Hall, St. Paul, MN)
Shakim Phillips (DePaul Cathollic HS, Wayne, NJ)
Ronald Powell (Rancho Verde HS, Mereno Valley, CA)
Lache Seastrunk (Temple HS, Temple TX)

To make the game a little more special, for the third straight year, game officials are also choosing high school musicians to be part of the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.
