There's a new national record for consecutive wins by an 8-Man high school football team. Shattuck won its 91st game Friday night, beating Goodwell 40-14 to move past former record holder Morrison, also from Oklahoma.
The Indians last loss was at the end of the 2002 season in a playoff loss to eventual state champ Pond Creek-Hunter. Since then, Shattuck has claimed six straight Class C titles.
NewsOK.com reports that the new record wasn't really in doubt as the Indians took control from their very first possession.
Congratulations to head coach Troy Bullard and the entire town for this accomplishment. If you'd like to hear what coach Bullard had to say prior to the game, check-out the podcast I did with him on Friday at High School Football America.
