Saturday High School Football Scores - 9/25/10

by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America

I spent the afternoon in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania shooting a feature for High School Football America on the rarity that is Saturday afternoon football.

Very few high schools play in the sunshine of Saturday, but the Green Knights have been doing so for decades.  What made Saturday's game different was neither Pen Argyl or its opponent Wilson have lights at their home fields.

The view from the very top of "The Hill" at Pen Argyl is incredible!  The above picture shows a 50-mile panoramic view into New Jersey.

Wilson's Smith Field sits in the shadow of the famous Dixie Cup, which sits on-top of the defunct Dixie Cup plant.

As far as whether either team will ever fully go into Friday Night Lights mode??  My guess is that won't happen for some time...and that's just fine with each team's fans.

Pen Argyl beat Wilson 42-6 to improve to 4-0 this season.  For the rest of Saturday's scores from around the nation, click on the links below.

Friday Night High School Football Scoreboard - 9/17/10

by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America

I spent Friday night in Berks County, Pennsylvania on a chilly, but perfect night for high school football!

As part of my on-going look inside the Pius X football program for High School Football America, I was on-hand as the very young Royals fell to 0-3 on the season after a 49-14 loss to Schuylkill Valley.

For those of you that haven't been following along since our coverage began on August 16th, Pius is one of the smallest schools in America playing 11-man football. There's only 80 boys in the tiny catholic school, but 50 of them play football.

To learn more about the Royals, go to High School Football America.

Saturday High School Football Scores

by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America

Another weekend of high school football is in the books.  Hopefully, you were able to get out an watch a high school football game in person.

I'm finally back home after High School Football America made stops in New York City; Roseto, Pennsylvania; Rye, New York and Lowell, Michigan over the last 10 days.

There was plenty of action on Saturday with some good action between top teams in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Nationally-ranked St. Peter's Prep (NJ) handled Pennsy-power St. Joseph's Prep 35-7, while Bergen Catholic made Jersey a perfect 2-0 over the weekend with a 22-21 win over defending 4A champ LaSalle College, which entered the game as the #1 team in several state polls.

Below are links to Saturday scores...

by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America

We're heading to Lowell, Michigan for tonight's Pink Arrow Pride game between Lowell and Kenowa Hills.

The stadium will be awash in pink as the Lowell Red Arrows don pink jerseys to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research and prevention.  The first couple Pink Arrow Pride games have raised nearly $200,000.

After the game, I'll be back to post pictures from the game and update our scoreboards.

Welcome to another Friday Night of High School Football.

As I mentioned earlier, today was quite a day with an appearance on CNBC's Power Lunch in a segment I created with show producers.  SportsIllustrated.com's BJ Schecter joined me on the segment that looked at the business of high school football.

Tomorrow I'll be in Roseto, Pennsylvania for an inside look at the Pius X Royals' home opener against Pottstown.

Now it's on to the real job, Friday night scores....click on links for the scores you are looking for.

High School Football America on CNBC

by Jeff Fisher
High School Football America

Labor Day weekend is here, and I'm geared-up for another big night of high school football in Rye, New York.

Earlier today I was on CNBC to talk about the big business of high school football.  It was one of the first times that the network focused on the sport.

Don't forget that starting around 9:30 PM EST tonight, we'll have high school football scores posted here.
