If you're a high school football fan, at least in your lifetime, you need to take a trip to the Lone Star State to check-out the Texas Football Classic, which has been kicking-off the high school football season in high-style since 1999 in San Antonio.
These year's Classic features five games with some of the best teams from around the football-crazed state. Here's the line-up that will make the Alamodome shine over three days:
San Antonio Madison vs. Seguin, Thursday, Aug. 31, 7:30pm
Pflugerville Hendrickson vs. New Braunfels Canyon, Friday, Sept. 1, 7:30pm
The Woodlands vs. Smithson Valley, Saturday, Sept. 2, Noon
Austin Lake Travis vs. Texas City, Saturday, Sept. 2, 3:45pm
McAllen Memorial vs. Victoria Memorial, Saturday, Sept. 2, 7:30pm
What type of teams will you get to see when you go to the Texas Football Classic? Seven schools in seven years of the Classic have opened their seasons with a victory in the Texas Football Classic before eventually playing for a 5A or 4A state championship.
