Mt. Carmel jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on Wheaton Warrenville South the 8A Illinois State Championship game, but that was the last time the Caravan had a lead. WWS scored four touchdowns in the next 6 minutes 16 seconds to cruise to the school's fifth overall title with a 44-21 win.
WWS finishes the season a perfect 14-0.
