After three straight losses to Buford in Georgia's AA championship games, Calhoun broken through on Friday with a 27-24 overtime win over the Wolves.
Calhoun, which captured its first state title since 1952, almost lost its fourth straight title game to Bufrod when it squandered a 24-10 lead with two minutes to play. Buford tied the game with 39 seconds to go in regulation when Dillon Lee returned a blocked punt for a TD.
Calhoun beat the Wolves, ranked #9 by MaxPreps, in the first overtime when Adam Griffith kicked his third field goal of the night.
Last year's game also when to overtime before Buford won 31-24.
