If I were to tell you a player scored ten touchdowns and his team lost...would you believe me?
We'll that's what happened when East Poinsett County beat Hughes 73-72 in overtime in a high school football game in Arkansas.
Hughes High's Kendric Smith rushed for 425 yards and ten scores in the loss. The ten TDs broke the previous Arkansas state record of eight touchdowns in a game that was set by Chris James of Osceola in 2003 and Alvin Bell of Little Rock in 1919.
Even more impressive was the play of East Poinsett QB Brett Hardin, who had 835 all-purpose yards. Hardin rushed for 222 yards and five touchdowns and completed 16 of 34 passes for 287 yards.
Both teams entered the game winless.
