#1 De La Salle (Concord, CA) played its final home game Friday beating Liberty 48-0. Tim Maupin scored three touchdowns for the Spartans, who had to wait an extra 30-minutes for the game to start because Liberty's bus broke down. De La Salle started six of its seven first half drives in Liberty territory.

#3 Lakeland (FL) set two team records and tied another as it pounded crosstown rival George Jenkins 78-0. The Dreadnaughts set a school record with five defensive touchdowns, and placekicker Matt Roddenberry set a single-game record with eight extra points. The 78 points tied the school record for points in game.

Lakeland's "D" forced ten turnovers (7 fumbles, 3 interceptions). Running back Chris Rainey rushed for 116 yards on just six carries. Rainey scored two touchdowns.
