Don Bosco Prep Pounds St. Peter's Prep In New Jersey State Championship Game Between National Powers

Don Bosco Prep senior quarterback Matt Simms closed out his high school career with probably the biggest win of his career. Simms, the son of former New York Giant quarterback Phil Simms, completed 6-of-8 passes for 135 yards and one touchdown to lead DBP to a 41-0 win over St. Peter's Prep for the New Jersey Non-Public Group 4 state championship. Both teams entered the game ranked nationally in the USA Today Super 25 National Rankings.

Simms had lost his first two meetings against St. Peter's, including a 22-15 loss to SPP in last year's championship game.
