USA Today Super 25 High School Football Rankings

With 17 returning starters from last year's 4A South Carolina championship team, it's no surprise that Byrnes High (Duncan, SC) finds itself #1 in the USA Today Super 25 Pre-Season high school football rankings.

The Rebels are led by juniors Chas Dodd (quarterback) and Marcus Lattimore (running back) finished #13 in the final USA Today Super 25 in 2007. Dodd threw for over 3,200 yards last year and 32 TDs, while Lattimore rushed for nearly 1,900 yards and 28 touchdowns.

If Byrnes runs the table again, it will deserve a mythical national championship, because it has scheduled out-of-state games with Georgia Class AAAAA runner-up North Gwinnett (Aug. 29) and Florida 2B champ Pahokee (Oct. 3), plus a September 19th match-up with Lincoln from Tallahassee, Florida. The Rebels have won five state titles in six years.
