The High School Football Huddle
Aurora Christian quarterback Jordan Roberts now owns another Illinois passing record. Roberts, who earlier this year took over as the state's all-time touchdown thrower, is now the state's leader in passing yardage. Friday night Roberts broke the record of 8,308 yards set last year by Rochester's Wil Lunt. Aurora Christian beat Wheaton Academy 34-19.
Elsewhere, the David vs. Goliath Battle between 8A St. Rita and 1A Hope Academy went to Goliath as St. Rita improved to 8-1 with a 49-0 shutout. It was the first time in Illinois history that two teams from the state's biggest and smallest classification had ever met on the gridiron.
