The High School Football Huddle

The tragic death of Steve McNair will be front-and-center Friday night as Oak Grove and the rest of high school across Mississippi kick-off the 2009 season.

Oak Grove senior wide receiver Steve McNair, Jr. and his teammates will take the field at home tonight against Bassfield without Junior's father watching from the stands. McNair, Jr. is considered one of the top players in Mississippi, but it's hard to tell how the youngster will be able to deal with the tragedy that is still very fresh in everyone's mind.

The Clarion Ledger's Rod Walker takes a look at how things have changed for the younger McNair since the July 4th murder of his dad.
