Richards High School (Oak Lawn, IL) head coach Gary Korhonen has always been considered one of the best coaches, who has built one of the best programs in Illinois, but now he can be called the state's all-time winningest head coach.
Korhonen's squad beat Evergreen Park 44-0 over the weekend giving the 67-year head coach his 301st win all-time, which moved him past former Providence head coach Matt Senffner, who retired with 300 victories. The victory also clinched Richards' (6-0) 23-straight playoff appearance.
Actually Korhonen now has 310 career victories, if you count the nine wins he had while coaching in Iowa before taking the reigns at Richards.
The High School Football Huddle salutes Coach Korhonen and all of his players that helped him achieve this milestone.
