Maryland 4A Championship Game Preview

When Arundel plays Quince Orchard on Friday night for the Maryland 4A high school football championship all eyes will be on Arundel's quarterback Nick Elko, who has spent the season rewriting the state's passing record book.

Last week when the Cougars beat defending state champion Suitland 14-13, Elko tossed his 39th and 40th touchdown passes of the year that set a Maryland single-season mark. On Friday, he can set two more. Elko is 205 yards aways from the single-season record for passing yardage and 12 completions short of the single-season record of 237.
