Nationally-ranked Allen advanced to the Texas Class 5A Division I quarterfinals with its back-up quarterback leading the way to a 28-22 win over previously unbeaten Odessa Permian at Texas Stadium on Friday. Junior Tucker Carter was 10-of-16 for 199 yards and two touchdowns while subbing for starter Matt Brown, who sat out the game with a collarbone injury suffered in last week's game.
