East St. Louis began the season on a low note, but that makes the song that much sweeter a week before the Illinois high school football championships. Saturday the Flyers beat Glenbard West 27-20 to advance to the 7A title game against Geneva. It was East St. Louis' 12th straight win after beginning the season at the #1 7A team in Illinois and then losing 20-12 to Huber Heights Wayne (OH) in the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series.
