"The Turnaround": Coronado Week

by Jason Strunk
Lubbock High School Head Coach

Weekly prep has begun for our Coronado game next Friday night.

Injured players reported at 9 a.m. for rehab. The staff also reported at the same time. We are breaking down Coronado's game from last night. We have two scrimmages to watch as well.

Our JV kickoff at 1 p.m. against Canyon. We will coach that game and then come back and finish up film for the night. We are a little ahead of schedule since we played Thursday night. Typically, Saturday's are jam packed. However, we met yesterday, lifted the team and got them their nutrition. It is nice to be a little ahead right now.

This week will begin our first real look into the day-to-day operations of our LHS staff. Weekends are pretty boring (unless you are a coach). Lots of film and analysis. We are ready to crank it up for the week. I know one thing; I really have no desire to watch any college ball this weekend. I just want to get after Friday night. No time to watch any football other than our opponent next week. That is just how I am.
