Gately Stadium in Chicago was rocking Friday night as two of the top teams in the state collided for not only Windy City bragging rights, but also state and national bragging rights. In the end it was Mt. Carmel doing the bragging after beating St. Rita, which was ranked #24 by USA Today, 35-19 before a sellout crowd at Gately.
St. Rita won the Illinois 7A championship in 2006, while Mt. Carmel was runner-up the state's largest class (8A).
