A judge in California agrees with the California Interscholastic Federation's decision to crackdown on Franklin High School's illegal recruiting of high school football players.
The San Joaquin County judge upheld the CIF's decision to suspend the school's football program for the rest of this season and the next two. The CIF supended the Franklin football program for improperly recruiting student athletes from American Somoa.
In addition to forfeiting all of its football victories since 2005, Franklin won't be eligible for the state football playoffs until 2012.
In light of the suspension, the Stockton Unified School District board has announced that it has accepted the retirement of head coach Tom Verner and decided to place athletic administrator on paid leave pending an investigation.
